GLP integrates leading sustainable building standards into the design and construction of our buildings. In Brazil, GLP teamed up with DHL Supply Chain to deliver a best-in-class distribution facility which also met DHL and Nike's sustainable emission reduction targets.
Customer's Key Challenges:
- DHL operates and manages the facility with a floor area of 26,700 sqm, which serves as Nike’s regional distribution center
- Nike has been looking to operate in a net zero carbon building
GLP Solutions:
- GLP Brazil provided rooftop solar panels with a capacity of 785 KW, which is the highest for a logistics asset in the country
- The installed panels generate approximately 100,000 kWh per month, representing 100% of the facility’s energy needs
- The distribution center is a sustainable building with a LEED Gold E&B Certification
- The facility provides a dedicated charging point for electric vehicles and other innovative, technology-led environmental practices such as electric carts, scanners and robotic process automation
- The facility is rated highly on a range of sustainable metrics related to location, water use efficiency, ventilation, lighting, waste collection and good building and employee practices among others
