GCTL is a joint venture between GLP and Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd. (CATL) the world’s leading battery provider and the largest maker of electric vehicle (EV) batteries to expand the use of clean energy in logistics and transportation. The JV will explore a range of opportunities including expanding the use of new energy through asset-as-a-service offerings, creating smart energy systems for commercial properties, providing renewable energy to logistics assets and expanding energy storage capabilities for rooftop solar panels and also test the viability of autonomous vehicles in logistics management and transportation to advance sustainability in logistics and transportation.

Previous Case study EV Infastructure Hidden Hill Capital, a private equity investment platform backed by GLP, has established an RMB fund with YKC Clean Energy Technologies, China's leading renewable energy SaaS provider, to invest in EV charging infrastructure in China. The fund held a first close of RMB 200 million in October 2021 and is targeting a total of RMB 1 billion to build China’s largest EV charging network.
