GLP recognised at the W.Media Asia Pacific Cloud & Data Center Awards
GLP received the Innovation in Data Center Cooling award, affirming its leadership as a leading digital infrastructure provider in China
SINGAPORE, 9 December 2024 – GLP is pleased to announce that it has clinched the Innovation in Data Centre Cooling award at the W.Media Asia Pacific Cloud & Data Center Awards 2024. This accolade highlights GLP’s cutting-edge hybrid cooling solutions designed to meet the multiple requirements for hyperscale data centers in China, particularly those supporting AI workloads.
GLP’s digital infrastructure practice in China has developed a sustainable and flexible approach to meet the unique cooling demands of its clients, which include major players in cloud computing, financial services, and AI. These flexible innovative cooling solutions focus on helping customers optimize efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint.
The cooling systems designed by GLP are tailored to various power densities, with traditional chilled water and indirect evaporative cooling systems being utilized for loads below 20kW. In optimal climate conditions, these systems can achieve a Power Usage Effectiveness[1] (PUE) close to that of plate cooling systems, with a Cooling Load Factor[2] (CLF) as low as 0.1 and a PUE below 1.25. In water-scarce regions, GLP employs fluorine pump technology, supporting high operational efficiency even under challenging conditions.
The integration of GLP’s self-developed DC BASE, a proprietary multi-data center smart operation and management system, enhances the intelligence of the cooling solutions, allowing for real-time monitoring and optimization. This approach not only ensures system reliability but also drives energy efficiency, aligning with GLP’s commitment to sustainability.
GLP launched its digital infrastructure business in 2018 and as of end November, has built up a pipeline of 1.4 GW secured IT capacity, of which over 370 MW are in-service across 13 completed data centers. The Company offers build-to-suit, turn-key or powered shell solutions for both hyperscalers and enterprise customers, with a focus on four core regions of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, The Yangtze River Delta, the Greater Bay Area, the Mid-Western Region.
The W.Media Awards is a mark of distinction for the cloud and data center sector, recognizing companies which showcase leadership in energy efficiency, sustainable design, cutting-edge connectivity, and advancements in carbon reduction, sustainable transformation, and hyperscale solutions. [1] Power Usage Effectiveness is the ratio of the total amount of energy used by a computer data center facility to the energy delivered to computing equipment.
[2] Cooling Load Factor is the cooling load at a given time, accounting for the time lag between the outdoor and indoor temperature peaks.
