GLP Develops First LEED Platinum Logistics Facility in Japan

GLP has attained LEED Platinum certification - the highest level possible - for GLP Misato III, its development project in Greater Tokyo, Japan. GLP Misato III is  the first logistics facility in Japan to achieve LEED Platinum.

Singapore, 12 November 2013 – Global Logistic Properties Limited (“GLP”), the leading provider of modern logistics facilities in China, Japan and Brazil, has attained LEED Platinum certification – the highest level possible – for GLP Misato III, its development project in Greater Tokyo, Japan. GLP Misato III is the first logistics facility in Japan to achieve LEED Platinum.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (“LEED”), developed and managed by the U.S. Green Building Council, is the world’s most widely recognized and used standard for measuring the performance of green buildings. Buildings can qualify for four levels of certification, the highest being Platinum.

GLP Misato III employs a number of pioneering advanced features that directly benefit its tenants in terms of lower operating costs and ensuring business continuity at all times.

These include:

  • Unique seismic isolation construction method that allows the building structure to withstand large earthquakes, in addition to lowering construction costs
  • Back-up power supply systems to protect against power outages
  • Optimized water and energy efficiency including use of solar panels, LED lighting and thermal insulation materials
  • Heat-reflective paint on roof to maintain cool indoor temperature
  • Enhanced air ventilation system to maintain office air quality
