GLP delivers mega-industrial park in Tokyo, second in ALFALINK series

  • With total investment cost of $1.3 billion, GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama comprises eight adjacent sites with total gross floor area of almost 1 million square meters
  • 97.1% leased upon completion to over 60 prominent domestic and international companies and accommodates a workforce of 6,000 employees

Tokyo, 1 August 2023 - GLP Pte Ltd. (“GLP”) is pleased to announce the successful completion of GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama, the largest multi-site logistics project to be delivered in Japan. The $1.3 billion project consists of eight multi-storey buildings across adjacent sites covering a total gross floor area of 931,200 sqm, the combined size of 130 football fields. At completion, the mega scale campus was 97.1% leased to over 60 prominent companies and will accommodate a total workforce of over 6,000 when all buildings are operational, including Sagawa Express Co., Ltd., and Seino Transportation Co., Ltd.

Designed to the highest sustainability standards, GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama is equipped with rooftop solar panels which provide 6.1 MW installed capacity, providing clean energy which is used to support a proportion of the park’s operational needs. Water is recycled and used in toilets, meeting 50-70% of required water supply and approximately 20% of the site has been preserved as green space. The completion of multi-phase GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama comes off the heels of GLP ALFALINK Sagamihara, a 680,000 sqm facility which is 100% leased to over 30 companies, and marks the completion of the second development in the ALFALINK series. Strategically located within 25 km of the city center, GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama is excellently located to act as a delivery base for the Kanto region, serving the needs of 3PL and e-commerce customers looking to strengthen their supply chain ecosystem in Japan.

The multi-purpose campus consists of dry warehouse space, factory lines, cold chain storage and office areas, allowing it to flexibly meet the needs of customers across different industries. To encourage resource and best practice sharing, GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama organizes regular networking meetings among tenants to share common business needs and issues, as well as frequent customer liaison meetings and to improve the operational efficiency of the facility. GLP’s operational team works closely with customers to solve their logistics needs such as transportation and delivery, human resource and staffing, robotics automation solutions and facility management.

GLP ALFALINK Nagareyama houses restaurants, convenience stores, children day care centers and sporting facilities which are made available for public use. Since 2021, over 100 community events have been organized onsite including logistics tours for elementary school students and the ALFALINK Nagareyama Summer Fest 2022 which was attended by over 2,000 community members.  The facility is also a designated disaster evacuation facility for the region, and regularly provides training and drills on fire and disaster safety. As part of business continuity measures, the campus is equipped with onsite emergency generators which provide a lifeline and aid with early recovery in the event of fuel/power disruption.
